About the project
Designed in 1953 by Karl Langer, West’s Furniture showroom was an influential landmark of modern design in its day. The building was reconstructed to its original design for adaptive reuse as office accommodation. The reconstruction and adaptive reuse was awarded a prestigious Australian Institute of Architects’ National Heritage Award and Gold in the National Trust of Queensland Awards.
