About the project
Conrad Gargett was comissioned to develop a new Queensland fire station prototype for the Redland Bay Fire Station.
The functional zones of the Redland Bay Fire Station are expressed as a series of zincalume metal sheet clad tubes with fluorescent highlights. The ends of the tubes, which serve as the pedestrian and vehicular entry points of the buildings, are finished in coloured panels. The entry is marked with an exaggerated signage and tower element.
