Physical Fitness Facility, Enoggera Barracks

The PFC is a flexible physical fitness facility and leisure centre for Defence Force personnel at Enoggera Barracks. Designed to minimise energy consumption, the basketball court is designed with automatic opening windows linked to the building maintenance system.

This generated significant savings by reducing the required air-conditioning. The facility contains the following functions:
Entry / foyer area, Administration, first aid, store rooms and change facilities & Common administration / ablutions
Twin Basketball Courts, Twin Squash Courts, Boxercise Training Room, Cardio Training Room, Spin Training Room, & Combat Training Room
50m 8 lane indoor pool and overhead obstacle course landscaping and Passive Recreation Area.

By carefully analysing the occupant load on the pool, the particular type of user and understanding the contractual framework for maintenance, Conrad Gargett were able to design a specific pool treatment system to minimise the life cycle cost of the plant.
