About the project
Conrad Gargett’s design of Coorparoo Square aims to create a dynamic, vibrant transit-oriented community that caters to residents and workers daily needs.
This is a catalyst project for the revitalisation of the Coorparoo Junction Precinct. Originally a historical major retail precinct for Brisbane, the intent of the development is the creation of sub-tropical, shady pedestrian focused streets and spaces.
Coorparoo Square promotes delineation of the streets and maintains a human scale to all edges and spaces. The project delivers a mix of apartment types, sizes and price points to ensure a diverse community is created on the site. The integration of retail and commercial uses within the development adds to the diversity of community.
Site planning is arranged around a hierarchy of public and private space. Development at the edges of the site provides connection to the neighbourhood by establishing a relationship with the physical context.
Stage 1 provides 244 apartments in two towers (19 and 13 levels). Stage 2 provides a 17-level tower with 106 apartments targeting owner occupants. Purchasers have embraced the 2500 m² recreation terrace at level three, which provides two x 20 metre pools, a full-sized tennis court and landscape recreation areas.
