About the project
The reuse of heritage buildings in new ways is an important strategy for conserving significant building.
The adaptive reuse and conservation works to Building 8 were part of the larger revitalisation of the RNA Showgrounds. The project involved rediscovering and repairing the original core of the building which had been built in over time. The distinct roof line consisting of gable and skillion roof will become a pavilion in the park for the use and enjoyment of the community for most of the year and during the Brisbane Exhibition or Ekka it becomes a show pavilion.
