About the project
Conrad Gargett was engaged to breathe new life in to the ground floor lobby and surrounds, and create a new End of Trip Facility within a 1980's commercial building on a prominent Brisbane CBD corner intersection.
A unique experience was conceived, with the arrival and tenant/public interface areas strategically uplifted with Jewellery like bespoke design features. Luxurious finishes featuring brass, Venetian plaster and marble are seamlessly inserted within the curvaceous existing building form.
The sculptural brass drum and new skylight feature insertions within the void above the entry highlights the main access to the building both day and night, improving the legibility and presentation of the entry experience. A resultant half circular motif informs numerous detail design features within the foyer, lift upgrades and a new End of Trip Facility (EOT) providing a coherent link between the various components of the project. The new double storey EOT Facility provides now typical, healthy and active lifestyle amenities for tenants, cleverly inserted within a residual basement space, with discreet connectivity to the main lobby area. The design comprises several individual bathrooms. lockers and plenty of bike storage.
