Leila is passionate about highlighting and preserving culturally significant sites and places by incorporating contemporary additions that enrich community identities and ensure long-term sustainability.
Working on heritage projects across the public, education, health sectors, Leila contributes to initial strategic and master planning as well as the development of a project vision and design concept.
She has expertise in large-scale restoration and adaptation projects locally and internationally, including Turquoise Mountain and the Tourist Burma building in Yangon, Myanmar, both landmark projects where she developed Conservation Management Plans and led the restoration and adaptation teams.
Other key projects include the University of Queensland, Brisbane Customs House, Witton Barracks Creative Hub, and the Shire of Yarra Ranges Museum in Victoria.
