Queensland’s peak architecture body urges public & private sector to get projects ‘shovel ready’

The Australian Institute of Architects (Queensland Chapter) has launched the Shovel Ready Campaign.
Shovel Ready calls upon the Queensland Government, local governments, universities, schools and developers to accelerate the first stages of all Queensland building and construction programs.
The Campaign will help mitigate potential delays of up to two years to building project timelines affected by COVID-19. Shovel Ready encourages the urgent progress of feasibility studies, master planning, concept design, documentation and development approvals.
The Australian Institute of Architects (Queensland Chapter) has formally written to the State Government, local Council Mayors, Queensland university Vice-Chancellors, select independent school Principals and developers encouraging them to get their building projects shovel ready.
