Conrad Gargett, in collaboration with Broadway Malyan, won a limited design competition to produce a concept master plan for Springfield Health City, the designated central core of the health and wellness offering in Greater Springfield. The site is a 52 hectare integrated health precinct which aims to deliver a health and wellness experience for the community through the provision of quality healthcare, medical education and research as well as aged and seniors living. The master plan is a complete ‘health city’ and includes a mix of uses with healthcare, medical education and translational research, commercial, residential, sports, leisure and community uses. The concept sought to capture the integrated vision of the Greater Springfield and Springfield Town Centre master plans whilst incorporating the most relevant and positive elements of some of the world’s more prominent and successful global health precincts.
