Conrad Gargett triumphs at 2015 Brisbane Regional Architecture Awards

The Conrad Gargett team are standing proud after taking home awards for the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital and Goddard Building Rooftop expansion, University of Queensland at the 2015 Brisbane Architecture Awards on Friday 8 May.
Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, designed in joint venture with Lyons Architecture was awarded the top prize of the night, the ‘John Dalton Award for Building of the Year.’
The jury cited about the Hospital, “Solving complex problems of urban design and architectural scale, The Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, South Brisbane establishes a new benchmark in paediatric healthcare for the State of Queensland through innovative clinical procedures housed within legible spatial and formal gestures that place the child at the centre of care.
On the night, the Hospital was awarded commendations for Urban Design, Interior Architecture, Public Architecture and The Australian Institute of Architects Prize for Art and Architecture.
In addition to the success of Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, Conrad Gargett was awarded a commendation in Heritage for the Goddard Building Rooftop Expansion at the University of Queensland’s St Lucia Campus.
Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital and Goddard Rooftop Expansion will now progress to the Queensland State Architecture Awards to be announced June 26 in Brisbane.
