Conrad Gargett takes the stage at world congress

Principal Ian Mitchell and Head of Landscape Architecture Katharina Nieberler-Walker will be presenting at the 11th Design & Health World Congress & Exhibition 2015 in Hong Kong.

Exploring the key themes of Designing a healthy society for the 21st century Ian and Katharina will present the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital and its healing gardens as a case study.

Ian’s presentation, Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, a case study of healthy built environment will look at the aspects of a design concept underpinned by a striving for coherence, connection to nature and the role of the project in their context with promoting a healthier community by cultural engagement and urban renewal.

Designed for healing – the gardens of the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, Katharina will discuss the contemporary research which underpins the landscape’s design philosophy and how promoting these health and environmental benefits should be the focus of how we design health facilities and indeed how we approach health care in Australia.

Organised by the International Academy for Design & Health, the Design & Health World Congress & Exhibition is an international forum for continuous dialogue between Academia, Industry and Government. For more information visit www.designandhealth.com
