Conrad Gargett received the honour of the 2016 Queensland Business History Award at last night’s Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame Induction Dinner.
The Queensland Business History Award, presented by State Library of Queensland, Queensland Library Foundation and QUT Business School as part of the Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame partnership, recognises leadership in collecting, preserving and sharing business history.
Managing Director Bruce Wolfe notes this is a huge accolade for Conrad Gargett, who celebrated their 125 year anniversary last year.
“Over 12 decades of design, people can see how the buildings evolved, how the design ethos of the practice has stood the test of time and how it’s not based in fashion but based in quality and response to environment.” Mr Wolfe said.
Mr Wolfe attributes the practice’s success to their aptitude of staying ahead of change, building on their extensive history.
