The residential & mixed use development is located on a sloping site on the Vaucluse ridge, with views to the north and to Sydney Harbour. The existing post-war apartments and shop were demolished and a terraced apartment development with a retail component built in its place. The new accommodation consists of eight 100m2 apartments with two car spaces for each, and a retail space with frontage to the main road. The carparking level is accessed directly off the lower rear lane.
The apartments’ generously-sized outdoor spaces face north and step back at each level in a terraced configuration to maximize privacy and aspect. The top floor apartments have full height sliding glazed walls and large raised gardens, to provide a green roofscape and enhance the dramatic outlook to distant harbour views.
The main street façade, curved in plan to follow the road, maintains the street scale of the two-storey buildings and the nearby existing shops.
