Townsville Information Centre / Recreational Boating Park Kiosk
Visitor Informaion Centre, Port of Townsville
Conrad Gargett was invited by the Port of Townsville to design the precinct’s Visitor Centre. Sited on the bank of Ross Creek, the proposed public building is situated at the entrance to the masterplanned Ross Creek Commercial Precinct providing visitors the opportunity to inform themselves of the Ports activities in a welcoming and relaxed environment along the edge of Ross Creek offering views to Castle Hill and Magnetic Island. The proposed facility includes an interpretive centre with interactive access to information; including projects and timelines, customers and trades, and community initiatives.
Townsville Recreational Boating Park
Conrad Gargett Riddel provided the design and documentation for the Kiosk and Amenities facility and Recreational Shelter for BBQ’s and seating for the adjacent public park area as a part of the Stage 1 Townsville Recreational Boating Park for Townsville City Council. The scheme responds to the site and landscape creating a sense of place and anchor for the wider recreational boating precinct on the edge of Ross River. The facilities accommodate functional requirements for the boat park and boat ramp, as well as mooring tenants and adjacent park area.
