Press Kiosk, James Street
The Press Kiosk on James Street is an urban infill project that activates a small 20sqm site lodged between a bus stop, car park and retail frontage. The brief for a small cafe to address the passing street trade provided the opportunity to extend and enliven the pedestrian experience of James Street onto the site.
The design which includes a green wall and roof is an injection of greenery into this end of James Street. The design includes cedar double hung windows, a stainless steel cornice, painted black steel, blackbutt ship lap cladding, and bright mosaic tiling that together with the tropical garden roof give the kiosk a vibrant personality that adds to the James Street experience.
