Parkside Commercial Development, Springfield
This speculative project required the provision of campus style building with large (4,200m2) floor plates. The site forms an important end to the major pedestrian boulevard from Springfield train station through to Robelle Domain Parkland. The linear office zones are placed either side of an atrium which opens up to this important boulevard with a covered plaza area containing retail, restaurant and function spaces. The folded form of the western wing responds to the arrival plaza shared with the adjacent commercial office building and hotel. The eastern wing is folded to follow the adjacent parkland frontage. The resultant atrium space is a dynamic zone of interaction and connection for the building occupants over all levels.
