Old Government House Adaptive Reuse and Restoration

Conrad Gargett was commissioned as the Principal Consultant and Design Architect for the restoration and adaptive re-use of Old Government House, the most important colonial building in Queensland, to house function venues, an interpretive centre, the William Robinson Gallery, offices and a cafe.

The refurbishment also incorporated ‘State of the Art’ services and insertion of new elements such as lifts, stair and toilets in a sensitive yet distinctly contemporary character.
