Ingham Hospital Redevelopment
Conrad Gargett was commissioned to build a new integrated service public hospital on the site of the existing hospital in Ingham. This is a regional hospital which has 28 beds in single wards; however this is expandable to 44 beds in an emergency situation.
The building is a single level with extensive plant rooms located in the ceiling space. There are two operating theatres, emergency and imaging departments. A large Community Health facility, including Mental Health Outpatients, rounds out the integrated services now offered on the campus.
The building has been built around a central courtyard which provides a healing garden and a meeting area for patients and visitors. The Community health facilities can be accessed without entering the main hospital and is able to function independently.
