The adoption of clear vision and innovation in landscape design and urban planning translates through to smaller scaled works with attention to striking detail and significant social amenity.
The landscape design for the Santa Teresa Spirituality Centre emphasises the natural beauty of the location on the Bay. It extends the architectural design intent to the outside by providing calm and tranquil outdoor spaces in support of the spirituality of the place.
A multi-layered strategy was adopted for siting a new building adjacent the St Stephen’s Cathedral and included an abstract narrative of St Stephen’s life through a series of undulating landscape zones and an undulating screen. The grass and concrete paving match the existing paving with strips of stone laid randomly to form the “River of Stone” artwork.
The landscape concept for GE Headquarters was developed in collaboration with Conrad Gargett architects and focuses on legibility, intuitive way finding, pedestrian amenity and on maximising visual and physical connection to adjacent 22 ha regional town park.
