The Moorebank Units Relocation project comprises the relocation of the School of Military Engineering to Holsworthy Barracks, as well as the establishment of a series of supporting precincts. Conrad Gargett (as a subconsultant to BVN) delivered the Combined Mess, Physical Fitness Complex (including a cricket/AFL oval, rugby and soccer fields) and the Living In Accommodation Precinct. The project won the prestigious 2016 Australian Construction Achievement Award.
As national leaders in this sector, we have worked with the Department of Defence on projects for the army, air force and navy bases Australia wide. The range of projects has varied enormously to include working accommodation, workshops and shelters (for aircraft, patrol boats and land vehicles), training facilities (including aircraft simulators and physical fitness centres), mess facilities and living-in accommodation all with a focus on value over the life of the facility, functionality and sustainability.
