We are seeking an Architectural Graduate, with 0-5 years post Masters graduate experience and advanced Revit knowledge, together with a proven ability to work within a collaborative project environment.  The position is based in our Townsville studio.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work closely with the project leaders to produce great design and documentation
  • Work on residential and/or varied commercial projects
  • Work on design development, development applications, documentation and construction stages of projects

To be the successful candidate you will:

Due to continued growth nationally, we are seeking an experienced, organised and well-presented Executive Assistant to join our Brisbane team.  This is a diverse role, in a fast paced environment, within a tight-knit team and demands a highly organised individual with an ability to work autonomously and in a self-motivated manner.

In this pivotal role you will be reporting directly to the HR Director as well as providing support to other Company Directors and Senior staff ensuring your day is busy and varied. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Reception duties
  • Preparing, collating and formatting complex documents in Word (InDesign highly Advantageous)
  • Preparation of Tender Submissions and other correspondence
  • Excel and Powerpoint Presentations
  • Extensive diary management
  • Coordinating and scheduling meetings

Specification Writer

We are seeking a Specification Writer who is generally experienced in prior building construction settings and possessing a sound knowledge of building materials and construction systems and techniques gained from – architecture, construction management or specification consulting or program management or similar firms.  The position is based in our Brisbane studio.

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead and initiate continuous improvement
  • Seek out emerging laws, regulations, trends and opportunities
  • Seek out improvements within project teams
  • Inspire colleagues and consultant co-workers
  • Write in a number of styles, including for presentations, specifications and contractual issues
  • Prepare Outline specifications (or any replacement media which supersedes specifications) for design phases depicting materials and systems
  • Write technical descriptions specifying material qualities and properties, utilizing  knowledge of material standards, construction systems or manufacturing processes.
  • Perform technical and design reviews on the content of the documentation, including the specification versus the drawings
  • Manage, Co-ordinate and co-operate with other consultants to ensure a consistent standard in format and references.
  • Be informed and share information to the office of the products on the market, assisting in maintaining and developing our library of catalogues and other information for designers and architects to use.
  • Inform and update yourself on legal contexts; advise and provide written opinions on legal and contractual  matters,
  • Prepare General conditions of contracts and Preliminaries sections based on a sound familiarity of standard building contracts.
  • Review and respond to RFI’s relating to the specification.
  • Guide, lead  and mentor colleagues on documentation approaches including the preparation of documentation (including specifications and schedules).
  • Demonstrate sound research skills including meeting with suppliers, manufacturers and fabricators to discuss material selections, technical properties, installation details, compliance with codes and generally updating information on the latest innovations and trends.
  • Maintain a  database of key manufacturers’ information  where necessary.
  • Maintain, make accessible, communicate and inspire standard methods and specifications.

To be the successful candidate you will :

  • Be firstly, keen to advance, lead and inspire.
  • Be generally experienced in prior building construction settings and possessing a sound knowledge of building materials and construction systems and techniques gained from; architecture, construction management  or specification consulting or program management or similar firms.
  • Have tertiary qualifications in architecture, architectural technology or  another construction‐related field.
  • Have computer skills including; advanced Word and Excel, familiarity in navigating minor editing in Revit (training will be available for gaining this latter skill).
  • Have good interpersonal skills, working with others in a team setting, communicating directly with Clients and Contractors and working on  multiple projects at the same time.
  • Have a thorough understanding of NATSPEC specifications
  • Be familiar with construction industry trends, the latest materials and their uses.
  • Have sound knowledge of Greenstar requirements
  • Have the ability to view projects in their entirety and converse with contractors, consultants and regulatory authorities at all levels.
